About the Author: Giuseppe Agostino Orsi (1692-1761) became the top theologian of the Catholic church and a writer of numerous scholarly books. This is his sixth book of eleven and the first of two on baptism. This Latin book was found by Pastor D. S. Garza of Madera, California. It is of great interest for it reveals the debate among Catholic scholars through the centuries about baptism in the name of Jesus. In the Catholic church, this concerned the validity of baptism in the name of Jesus and the baptisms performed by ‘heretics.’ Oneness writer, Eugene Dominguez, annotates throughout the intriguing narrative of the dissertation.
